WE’RE GETTING MARRIED!

Our connection began long before we met. Alexis’s sister Claudia and Mariam were university classmates in Amsterdam since 2014, but it wasn’t until May 2019 that fate finally brought us together during Alexis’s first visit to Amsterdam.
We first met at a dinner at Volks Hotel, where we broke away from the group and talked for hours. Our second encounter at restaurant Salmuera ended with Mariam leaving an unexpected kiss on Alexis’s cheek before disappearing into a taxi – a moment Alexis still remembers vividly.
Though timing wasn’t right initially, we both secretly kept asking Claudia about each other over the next two years. The breakthrough came in summer 2021 when Claudia finally connected the dots and called Alexis with news that Mariam was single.
What followed was a summer of eager email exchanges, each of us impatient for the other’s response. In August 2021, we finally reunited in Amsterdam for our first real kiss and began our long-overdue love story.
On December 31, 2022, Alexis proposed on the windy beach of Bloemendaal aan Zee, with our dog Teo as witness. The ring, specially designed with a gold band and cushion sapphire with two diamonds, was perfect. The wind swept sand across the beach, reminiscent of our beloved Dune novels. We celebrated with hot tea overlooking the beach before watching New Year’s fireworks from Mariam’s apartment – a date chosen so we would always have double the reason to celebrate each year end.
After signing a partnership in June 2023 and buying our first home together, we had a small civil ceremony with family and close friends in Amsterdam on April 30, 2024. This date also holds a special meaning to us, as it is also Mariam’s parents and grandparent’s wedding anniversary date.
Now we’re thrilled to celebrate our love with our chrished family and friends in sunny Málaga!
Saturday 27th of September 2025
We’ll gather at the venue at 17:00 to kick off the celebration with a welcome drink.
After that, we’ll head to the ceremony where we’ll say I do surrounded by our favorite people.
The evening continues with a delicious dinner and a party to dance the night away!

Dress Code
We invite you to dress up and celebrate with us in cocktail attire. While we encourage you to look your best, comfort is important! The venue has both indoor and outdoor areas, including some grassy sections. Consider this when choosing your footwear.
The weather in Málaga in late September is typically pleasant (22-27°C/72-80°F), but evenings can be cooler, so a light jacket or wrap might be useful.
Most importantly, wear something that makes you feel wonderful and ready to celebrate with us!
Children
While we absolutely love your little ones, unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate for them on the wedding location.
However if they are joining you for the trip, our wedding planner has vetted several professional childcare services in Málaga that provide trustworthy, experienced sitters who can care for your children during the celebration. If you’ll be bringing children and require childcare, please indicate this in your RSVP.
For families interested in sharing childcare arrangements to make it more economical and fun for the children, we’re happy to connect you with other guests who also need childcare services. Just let us know in your RSVP, and we’ll facilitate these connections.
We understand this might require extra planning on your part, and we appreciate your understanding as we create an evening celebration designed for adults.

Weather in September
September is a wonderful time to visit Andalucía with average temperatures of 22-27°C (72-80°F). Evenings can be slightly cooler, so a light jacket is recommended. The Mediterranean is still warm enough for swimming, typically around 23°C (73°F).
