Tatjana & Rajat

WE’RE GETTING MARRIED!

16.05.2025  &  18.05.2025

Ten years ago, in the midst of equations, textbooks, and university chaos, Tatjana and Rajat’s paths crossed in the most unexpected way—over a math problem. Tatjana, in need of some math help, posted on the university’s “Sharing is Caring” Facebook page, hoping someone could rescue her from the tyranny of calculus. Rajat soon came along, calculator in tow, offering his math skills with a dash of charm.

After the first tutoring session, Rajat smoothly claimed his evening plans had suddenly been cancelled and asked Tatjana if she’d like to grab a drink with him. (Spoiler alert: there were no cancelled plans—this was his cleverly disguised way of asking her out!)

One drink led to another, and soon their “math lessons” became more about spending time together than solving equations. As winter approached, Rajat ever the gentleman—would pick Tatjana up for exams in the early cold mornings and even pre-warm her car seat. Before long, they were inseparable, turning study sessions into coffee dates and exams into reasons to spend more time together.

Rajat eventually made the big move from Germany to Switzerland to be with Tatjana, and together they’ve travelled the world, shared countless laughs and unforgettable experiences, and created more memories than any math problem could ever quantify.

The Proposal

In March 2024, under the dreamy cherry blossoms of Kyoto, Rajat had a plan that was as unique as it was unexpected. Handing Tatjana a pack of Pokémon cards, he casually suggested she open it for a fun little game. But when she pulled out a golden Pikachu card with the words “Will you marry me?” on it, the game quickly changed.

Before she knew it, Rajat was down on one knee, sealing the deal with the perfect proposal.

Helpful Information

Henna Ceremony: A Graceful Step Toward the Indian Wedding

Should you wish (entirely optional), there will be an opportunity to have henna applied to your hands during the Spanish wedding, as part of the preparations for the Indian wedding taking place on Sunday, 18th May.

To ensure the henna develops a rich color, we recommend having it applied on Friday, 16th May. While the application process itself is quick, please note that the henna will require approximately one hour to dry. We kindly advise you to take care to avoid staining your clothes during this time.

Where to Stay

The chosen wedding venues (Friday & Sunday) are geographically a bit distant from each other. Friday’s venue is in Malaga city (close to the airport), while Sunday’s venue is close to “Torre del Mar”, approximately 30-45 minutes from Malaga city.

To optimize your stay and logistics, we suggest the following options:

a) Plan your entire stay in “Torre del Mar”, as:

i. Shuttle bus services will be provided to and from “Torre del Mar” for both the Friday (Spanish wedding) and Sunday (Indian wedding) events.

ii. On Sunday, after the “Haldi Ceremony”, there will be a short break, and it would be more convenient to stay in “Torre del Mar” to make the most of this time and change clothes if necessary (shuttle buses will return you to your accommodation and bring you back for the evening function).

iii. If you spend all the days in “Torre del Mar” and you plan to visit Malaga city on Saturday, May 17th, there are comfortable and reliable buses between “Torre del Mar” and Malaga (checkwww.alsa.es for schedules).

b) Alternatively, split your stay: Stay in Malaga city for the first half of your trip (for the Spanish wedding on Friday), then switch to a hotel in “Torre del Mar” for the second half (for the Indian wedding on Sunday).

Transport

How to get from Málaga airport / Malaga city to “Torre del Mar” and back?

– Rent a car. Car is the fastest (35 min) and most convenient option. These are some car hire companies:

www.marbesol.com
www.sixt.es
www.goldcar.es/en/

– Share a taxi / Uber. If your flights are around the same time, why not share a taxi? only 35 minutes from the airport to Torre del Mar

– Public transport. By bus: Approximately 45 minutes (with direct routes available from the airport or Malaga city). The cost is €4-6 per person, each way. For more information and bookings, visit www.alsa.es (English and German language options are available on the website).
